Industrial Estate: Training for workers sought

Industries secretary suggested that a capacity building training should be arranged for employees.

Industries secretary Dr Shujaat Ali on Thursday chaired a meeting of Board of Management (BoM) of Industrial Estate of Multan (IEM) and took briefings from the board members and officials. The secretary took notice of the BoM’s failure to send its annual budget to the authorities concerned. He suggested that a capacity building training should be arranged for employees of the Industrial Estate of Multan to help them improve their performance.   He also took notice of very few greenbelts at the IEM. Industrial Estate of Multan BoM president Sheikh Usman said that residents of the areas in the surroundings of the estate had started using the area as a thoroughfare. He said funds should be provided so that a boundary wall could be built around the IEM. Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Committee (PIEDMC) chairman SM Tanweer, Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi, Khawaja Mohammad Azam, Haji Ataur Rehman and Mian Amir Naseem were also present at the occasion.
