Point Blank: Man shot dead over family feud

Police managed to arrest two of the killers, while their three unknown accomplices fled

ISLAMABAD: A middle-aged man on Friday was shot dead by the relatives of his daughter-in-law over a family feud in Dhok Taman. Police managed to arrest two of the killers, while their three unknown accomplices fled from the house of the man immediately after the incident. Muhammad Yaqoob, 45, was at his house in Dhok Taman, Tarnol, when two maternal uncles of his daughter-in-law arrived and started a verbal clash with him over some family feud. Police said Yaqoob’s daughter-in-law had already gone to her parents’ house after a fight with her husband. An official said that the girl’s maternal uncles, Maqsood and Zafeer, came to

Yaqoob’s house with the intention to kill him as they were armed with weapons and were accompanied by armed men. After a brief verbal brawl they pulled out their guns and shot at Yaqoob thrice killing him on the spot. His body was handed over to the family after the post mortem. Police had managed to arrest the main suspects within hours. The other three suspects were still at large.
