ISLAMABAD: A man allegedly opened fire on his sister-in-law over a domestic dispute, leaving her seriously injured in Islamabad on Monday.

Maryah Shaheen, the victim, said in the police complaint she filed that she had an argument with her brother-in-law, Anjum Shehzad, after he had come to her house and misbehaved with her.

Shaheen also said that she told him to stop, but in a fit of rage, Shehzad opened fire on her. She claims to have survived the onslaught, however, one of the bullets hit her in the stomach.

She further claims that her brother-in-law fled the scene of the crime unchallenged.

Local police have not managed to arrest the suspect till the filing of this report.

On December 9, two shopkeepers had allegedly beaten a mother and aunt of a child and tore down their clothes after slapping the kid in public in the federal capital.

Azmat Bibi had claimed that her young son was playing in Sector G-12, when Samar, the suspect, not only gave him a dressing down but also slapped him.

After coming to know of the incident, she had gone along with her younger sister to his shop to discuss the matter.

But, the suspect, along with a man identified as Ali, physically assaulted them and in the process tore their clothes apart in public.
