QUETTA: The Independent Lawyers Group has demanded that the authorities make public the names of the lawyers who are working in government departments.

Addressing a news conference in Quetta on Saturday, the group’s President Khalil Panezai said, “Our group has already filed a constitutional petition against lawyers enjoying the fruits of double professions and exploiting the rights of the new generation of lawyers.”

He said the list of government employees disguised in black coat should be presented in courts.

The president said the forum had scrutinised the record to find out the government servant lawyers.

It was revealed that there were hundreds of government employees in the lawyers’ profession.

“We have urged the courts to preclude all government servant lawyers to choose one profession, because they have been enjoying the fruits of double professions,” Panezai, said adding that the judiciary should take action against those providing legal assistance to multiple departments.
