Sources told Express News that these centers have been established in Allied and Civil hospitals of Faisalabad where a large number of patients suffering injuries in fighting, firing and other incidents are provided treatment.
In such circumstances, these counters will help the citizens in providing information about registration of FIR and other related issues. Sources added that with the establishment of Khidmat desks, the people will no longer have to visit the police station for fulfilling legal procedures as help in this regard will be provided on the spot.
Meanwhile, Faisalabad RPO Ghulam Muhammad Dogar and CPO Muhammad Ashfaq also visited the Khidmat Counters and reviewed the facilities which are being provided to the citizens. Trained police personnel have been deployed at the desks to provide every possible help to the citizens and patients.
Initially, the counters have been set-up at district headquarter hospitals which will later be extended to the tehsil hospitals.
According to the SOPs, the injured victim will provide his CNIC number at the Khidmat Counter. The available officer will issue the docket to the victim after taking his picture. The picture will be sent to front desk of the related police station via internet and then the police will start their legal proceedings. Later, a case of the incident will be registered.
With the introduction of these counters, the police aim to eliminate the bribery culture from the police stations and the difficulties in getting Medical Legal Certificate.
