Visitors complain about condition of parks in capital

ISLAMABAD: It seems that the civic authority responsible for maintenance and beautification of public parks has not lived up to the expectations of the people in the federal capital.

The city known for its natural beauty and resorts seems to be withering away as visitors seem disappointed due to lack of many facilities

An official of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) said, "there are around 175 functioning parks and playgrounds in the capital and more than 1200 technical and non-technical staff  is working to maintain the cleanliness of parks".A resident of sector I-8  Abu-Bakar said that public parks had lost their charm due to broken benches, swings and improperly disposed trash. He further said the parks of other areas including I-9, I-10, F-6, F-7 and G- 8 need to be renovated as soon as possible to attract visitors once again.

CDA needs to pay attention to parks, playgrounds

Saira Batool, another visitor calimed that unavailability of clean water, clean water and public safety are serios issues which need to be addressed.

Moreover vendors fleece visitors by selling the water bottles and other edible items at exorbitant prices, she added.
