Sustaining peace: Tribal elders urged to play role

'Peace has prevailed in North Waziristan at the cost of blood of the security forces and people of tribal district'

MIRANSHAH: Peace has prevailed in North Waziristan at the cost of the blood of the security forces and people of tribal district, said Seventh Division Brigadier Yahya Khan.

During a meeting he asked the North Waziristan Jirga members to play their part in ensuring sustainable peace in the tribal district. Brig Yahya Khan said that sacrifices of security forces have brought peace in the tribal region and civilian also played their part.

He said that now it is the turn of the elders of the ex-Fata and Maliks to play their part in peace and stability of the region. He said that with peace economic activities have returned to the ex-agency. Security forces are in the tribal district for welfare and development of the area, Brig Yahya said.

On the occasion he also heard the problems of the notable of the area and assured addressing the issues in due time.
