Addressing a delegation of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), he said that poor governance by the previous government had a negative impact on the overall economic growth of Punjab. He informed that the federal government was in the process of negotiating with 26 courtiers to get maximum facilities offered to Pakistani exporters.
The minister also revealed that currently new investors have to correspond with 26 different provincial and 19 federal departments to setup their units. “However, the Punjab government is actively considering a proposal to bring all these departments under one roof in a bid to further improve ‘ease of doing business’,” he shared. The minister requested the FCCI president to offer recommendations to make the system more efficient, workable and result-oriented.
Also speaking on the occasion, FCCI President Syed Zia Alumdar Hussain said that it was very difficult to revive the dwindling economy, but a clear direction has now been set through plugging the loopholes in the system.
