Local court sends him to jail on five-day judicial remand

A local court on Thursday sent anchorperson Dr Shahid Masood to Adiala Jail on a five-day judicial remand in a case pertaining to corruption in PTV.
The decision was taken after his five-day judicial remand came to an end. Dr Masood appeared in a local court in Rawalpindi before Deputy Judge Muhammad Inaamullah.
Masood is accused of signing a broadcasting rights agreement in exchange for cricket matches with fake a company.
Shahid Masood arrested by FIA in PTV corruption case
According to the FIA's investigation, at the time of the agreement Masood paid the company a sum of over Rs3 million. The entity was registered in Lahore and provided catering services.
Two co-accused Kashif Rabbani and Roshan Mustafa have reportedly returned a sum of Rs29 million against the dismissal of bail, the security agency maintained.
FIA's plea seeking further physical remand of Masood was dismissed, after which the anchorperson was taken to Adiala jail on judicial remand.
