KARACHI: An accountability court on Tuesday, in a reference against Karachi Development Authority (KDA) former director Nasir Abbas and others, issued arrest warrants for nine fugitives. The reference was filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) authorities before the Karachi accountability court. The court issued arrest warrants and adjourned the case till December 4. The fugitives included Saddar ud Din, Muhammad Zeeshan, Feroze Ahmed, Javed Ibrahim, Syed Mohsin Raza and others. The court directed to present the fugitives in the next hearing. According to NAB, with facilitation from former director KDA, the accused were involved in corruption while dealing in allotment of residential plots. Accused incurred losses of Rs60 million to the national exchequer.

An accountability court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing till December 4 due to the departure of judge in the case of Sindh’s information department corruption reference of Rs5.76 billion. Former provincial minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and others accused in the reference appeared before the court. Speaking to the media after the adjournment of court, Memon said that change has definitely come as there are so many U-turns.
