The woman’s brother-in law Ameer Bakhsh, a resident of Chak No 173, said that he brought his pregnant sister-in-law Zulekha Bibi, wife of Ghulam Akbar, for delivery at the hospital. However, he could not get her admitted to the health facility.
The doctors reportedly told him that there was still time for the delivery and he should bring Zulekha Bibi after two weeks.
“As soon as I took my sister-in-law in a rickshaw and reached the wagon stand, she started experiencing excruciating pain.”
He pointed out that the people shifted her to a local shop where she gave birth to a baby girl. Ameer Baksh blamed the hospital staff and doctors of committing negligence.
He said he brought the victim to the hospital for delivery, but the staff did not admit nor examine the patient.
He claimed that the responsibility for the incident lies with the hospital administration. Meanwhile, Traders’ Organisation members Tariq Baloch, Asif Kharal and others protested against the incident and demanded the Layyah deputy commissioner take notice and conduct an inquiry into the matter.
