Filling 29,000 posts will boost public trust: Buledi

Minister says govt will take Rs15b loan from ADB to build dams

QUETTA: Balochistan Information Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi has said that the cabinet’s decision to fill 29,000 vacant posts in provincial departments will increase public trust in the government.

The minister was addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club on Saturday. Home Minister Saleem Khosa, Finance Minister Arif Jan Muhammad Hasani and Information Technology Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Kethran were also present on the occasion. The ministers briefed the media about the two-day cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan.



They highlighted that the cabinet had decided to recruit people in all departments and instructed their heads to ensure merit and impartiality in the process.

They also said that for the first time in the cabinet’s history the provincial matters were discussed for more than 22 hours. Numerous important decisions were taken, while 40 new policies were approved, they added.

The provincial ministers said the establishment of the Bank of Balochistan would create 1,500 jobs for youth and generate about Rs1.5 billion revenue.

Buledi said, “The cabinet has decided to establish revenue commissions at Gwadar, Hub, Chaman, Taftan and Quetta, because the Gwadar port and Taftan and Chaman borders are the prime routes for strengthening the economy.”



The government had asked the planning and development department to prepare uplift plans for all districts, he added.

The minister said the cabinet had decided to take Rs15 billion loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for building dams in the province.

Buledi added that the provincial government was not ready to accept any cut in Balochistan’s share in the next National Finance Commission award. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had assured the CM that the province would get its due share.
