Hamza Ali Abbasi has always been quite vocal in regards to his 'item number's comments.

Not one but on numerous occasions, the Parwaaz Hai Junoon star has maintained that item numbers are unnecessary in the Pakistani film industry.

6 times Hamza Ali Abbasi created unnecessary Twitter controversies

Abbasi, an avid PTI supporter, came to PM Imran Khan's rescue after the Head of Government defended himself against the opposition’s allegation of taking U-turns, saying that the person who did not take decisions according to the situation was not a true leader.

“One who doesn’t take decisions according to the demand of the situation is not a true leader. [Adolf] Hitler and Napoleon [Bonaparte] would not have suffered losses if they had taken U-turns,” PM said.

"Once I thought item numbers, selling sex in films was an essential part of commercial cinema and a very progressive thing," the Mann Mayal star wrote on Twitter. "Then I took a u-turn and now I believe that item numbers and selling sex in films is an insult to art or cinema and cultural or religious ethics."

He further added that he didn't sign Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 due to the same reason.

"I have refrained myself from acting in movies with item numbers. I backed out of JPNA 2 for this reason. Trying to practice what i believe in," Abbasi wrote.

Last year, Hamza’s thoughts on how ‘shameful’ bold songs were in any Pakistani movie stirred a lot of emotions. “How can the censor board allow such filth to run in our cinemas? The actor has written on Twitter and of course, it wasn’t received well.
