K-P all set to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi with zeal and fervour

Citizens illuminate houses, bazaars, mosques and offices with colourful lights

PESHAWAR: All preparations to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi , the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on Wednesday with the deepest reverence , religious zeal and fervour have been completed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where all main buildings and historical sites have been brightly and artistically illuminated in the province.

Like elsewhere in the country the day would be celebrated across the province including the recently merged tribal districts of erstwhile fata commencing with special prayers in mosques for progress and prosperity of the country and entire Muslim Ummah.

With the day being declared a public holiday throughout the province like the rest of the country elaborate arrangements have been made to celebrate the occasion.

In Peshawar, the main procession would be taken out from Milad Chowk Rampura Gate under aegis of Idara Tableeg e Islam led by Syed Asad Ali Shah where people of all walks of life including religious scholars would pay rich and glowing tributes to the matchless services of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) for mankind.at large.

Another major function would also be held at Gul Bahar Peshawar to be organised by Syed Inayat Ali Shah on Wednesday where people would offer Naat and Darood Sharif to express their immeasurable love of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Citizens of Peshawar have illuminated their houses, bungalows, bazaars, markets, mosques and offices with colourful lights and festooned them with green flags buntings and pennants to express their immeasurable love and admiration of the messenger of Islam.

Large banners and gigantic billboards have been put up across the length and breadth of Peshawar by people, religious groups and scholars.

The government, semi govt organisations, educational institutes, social and religious organizations have planned special programmes and other activities on occasion of 12th Rabiul Awwal.

They have finalised different programmes of holding Naat and Darood-o-Salam competitions. The owners of buses, trucks, taxis , and motorcycles have decorated their vehicles artistically to pay great homage to Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Ulema and religious scholars have been invited to various programmes in villages, towns and cities on to inform and educate children about teachings of the Allah’s last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and highlighting His matchless services for humanity. Naat Khawani, declamation contests in Govt and private schools are being held across the province. In this connection, a Naat competition in Urdu and Pashto languages among students of Islamia College University was held under the aegis of Khyber Islamic Culture Society. The Urdu Naat competition was contested by 46 Naat Khwans while the Pashto Naat competition was held among 15 students. Renowned Naat Khawan Arbab Zafrullah was the chief guest on this occasion while the event was presided over by Dr Hussain Farooq. Dr Abaseen Yousufzai was also present as the guest of honour. The Urdu Naat competition was won by Abid Iqbal, followed by Ataullah Shah second and Ammad Ali took third position.

Abu Talha obtained first position in Pashto Naat completion while Fatima Shah and Zakirullah stood at second and third position respectively. Special functions are also planned and processions would be taken out in all major cities and towns of the province whereas all routes of processions are being illuminated and decorated with colorful lights and flags in connection with the day.

Vendors have established a number of stalls at every nook and corner of the province besides processions routes in Peshawar and are offering banners, badges, stickers and flags to people. The people are also distributing sweets besides gifts among relatives, poor and needy masses in connection with the great day.—APP

Security deployment

The Inspector General Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Salahuddin Khan Mehsood Tuesday has directed police force to adopt foolproof security arrangements for Jashne Eid Miladun-Nabi and to pre-empt and prevent any untoward incident.According to circular issued by Central Police Office, all Regional Police Officers and District Police Officers have been directed to personally visit each and every spot of congregations and processions being carried out in their respective region and adopt stringent security measures.

They have been directed to arrange meetings with elders of the area and work out a calculated strategy for timing of Eid Milad processions with their consultation. They were directed to scan all processions- routes with help of Bomb Disposal Unit and sniffer dogs and making best use of Elite Force, Rapid Response Force, Special Branch, Frontier Reserve Force that would be at their disposal for special duty on this occasion.He also directed police high ups to make arrangements for live electronic coverage of all Eid Milad-un-Nabi program, install camera on all police vehicles and effectively monitor routs of the processions.
