RAWALPINDI: A young girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and then killed by force-feeding her poisonous pills in the Darkali area of Dhoke Awan within the remits of the Jatli police station, officials said.

A police officer said that they had registered a case for her murder but are waiting on the post-mortem report to verify whether she had been sexually assaulted.

SP* told police that at around 4:45 pm on Sunday evening, she had left her home to buy some groceries. While she was away, Muhammad Moin* had allegedly barged into her house and forcibly took her daughter into a room. He allegedly locked all the doors from inside, so when SP came back to the house she found all doors locked from inside.

SP said that she managed to enter the house after her neighbours helped force it open.  Once inside she figured that the suspect and her daughter were in the same room. But the door to the room was locked from inside, hence SP could not access the room. She said that she raised a hue and cry to open the door, but the suspect did not open the door.

At his point, the suspect’s parents and brother entered her house and allegedly helped the suspect flee the scene.

SP told the police that after Moin fled, she went into the room to check on her daughter and found her vomiting and in the state of semi-consciousness.

She rushed her daughter to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital but the girl succumbed to the poison.

SP accused the suspect of forcibly feeding her daughter a poisonous substance which is kept in wheat. She further accused the suspect of sexually assaulting her daughter.

The police registered a murder case against the suspect but have yet to arrest the suspect. Officials added that the post-mortem report will verify accusations of sexual assault.
