Nawaz’s narrative is still the same: Rana Sanaullah

Says former premier will continue to lead PML-N as before

LAHORE: Despite the suspension of Avenfield conviction, the prolonged silence of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has raised speculations within the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership over his political narrative.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah said that Nawaz’s narrative to win sanctity for the vote was still the same. He added that Nawaz Sharif had not changed his narrative as opposed to the speculations.

He said that Nawaz had run a very exhaustive election campaign and his message had reached the people in every corner of the country. He added that there was no point in repeating it all over again.

The former provincial law minister shared that Nawaz’s return would mean a campaign against the government. He said that former premier would return to run a campaign against the government for mid-term elections. He added that Nawaz would continue to lead the party in the same way as he had been leading for the past few months.

Earlier on Tuesday, Qamar Zaman Kaira had advised PML-N to explain the silence of Nawaz Sharif and his daughter, Maryam Nawaz. He said that the political history of PML-N was tainted with ‘deals’, therefore, it was ‘good for the party to clear the issue’.

He said that Nawaz and Maryam were silent whereas Shehbaz and Hamza had been politically active.

Earlier this month, Senator Pervaiz Rashid said Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were not silent due to any pressure or any deal but it was not a politically correct time for them to make any public appearance.

Meanwhile, another party leader close to PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said that Shehbaz had not changed his narrative of harmony among state institutions.

He said there were speculations in the Nawaz camp that Shehbaz might have changed his narrative after being arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB). He added that the PML-N president would continue to stand for what he had stood for.

The party leader said that Shehbaz and his sons were facing the heat due to Nawaz Sharif’s aggressive policies.
