The PML-N leader refused to share the reason behind his decision. The top court had held Aziz in contempt and sentenced him till the rising of court.
Earlier on August 4, he filed an appeal against the conviction. He had denied in his appeal that he had ever said anything for which he was held in contempt.
The Supreme Court had issued a notice for contempt of court for an ‘anti-judiciary’ speech.
The charges against the PML-N leader were that he had accused the top court Justice Ijazul Ahsan on September 8 2017 of summoning National Accountability Bureau (NAB) authorities to Lahore and directed them to prepare corruption reference against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his family members and former finance minister Ishaq Dar.
