First lady visits mentally-ill women, children at Lahore rehab centre

Bushra Bibi vows to help facility's administration to improve services

LAHORE: First Lady Bushra Bibi on Sunday paid a visit to Fountain House, a rehabilitation centre in Lahore, where she interacted with mentally-challenged women and children housed there.

The country's first lady was accompanied by her friend, Farah Khan.

She visited various wards of Fountain House and was apprised on medical facilities given to the patients.

The women present at the facility thanked the first lady for the visit and also took selfies with her.

"I love meeting the destitute and those who have nothing, it truly brings me happiness,"she said.

Moreover, during the visit the first lady also vowed to help the rehabilitation centre's administration to improve the services they provide.

Earlier on September 1, the first lady had shared a meal with children during her trip to the Darul Shafqat orphanage in Lahore.

She had also brought food with her, a meal of chicken biryani and zarda, which was distributed among the children.
