Parineeti Chopra wants $5m 'joota chupai' from Nick Jonas

Celebrity couple got engaged in traditional Mumbai ceremony earlier this year

Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra has demanded $5 million as joota chupai -- the amount paid when the groom's shoes are hidden at some Indian wedding ceremonies -- from US popstar Nick Jonas, who is set to tie the knot with her cousin Priyanka Chopra, Gulf News reported.

Parineeti, who joined Priyanka on her bachelorette in Amsterdam, posted an Instagram picture from a party.

Jonas replied: “Wow she’s so beautiful. Any chance you could introduce me?”



Parineeti then responded by saying, “Nick Jonas, she is very hard to get! But I can try for you if you agree to pay the 5 million dollar shoe-hiding fee!”

The pair got engaged this year, after which the celebrity couple had a traditional Indian ceremony in Mumbai. The actress, recently, had a bridal shower and is now celebrating her bachelorette with her friends.
