KARACHI: The Sindh High Court suspended on Tuesday the operation of orders issued by the Sindh Police departmental promotion committee in which 10 officials promoted out-of-turn were returned to their previous ranks. Petitioner Ayaz Hussain with nine other police officials named the home secretary and IG as respondents. They submitted that the SHC had earlier directed the government to consider officers given out-of-turn promotions. It ordered that the cases would be re-examined. They contended that the petitioners were not heard and were instead reverted on the committee’s recommendation on April 30. The case will be next heard on June 15.
