JUI-F protests against acquittal of Aasia Bibi

Also takes out rallies against the murder of Maulana Samiul Haq

QUETTA: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl leaders on Friday held protest demonstrations and took out rallies across Balochistan against the acquittal of Aasia Bibi and the murder of religious leader Maulana Samiul Haq.
Condemnation resolutions were adopted after Friday prayers in various mosques of the province, while the central rally was held in the provincial capital Quetta, which was led by former senator Hafiz Hamdullah.
The rally marched on various streets and culminated at the Quetta Press Club after Friday prayers.



Hafiz Hamdullah, Maulana Wali Muhammad Turabi, Haji Sazuddin, Maulana Khudae Dost and other religious leaders addressed the protesters.
“The central government has acquitted a Christian woman Aasia Bibi due to international pressure,” said the JUI-F leaders, adding that the JUI-F and religious political forces won’t allow amendments to the country’s blasphemy law.
They demanded that the ones, who love their friendship with the west, should leave the country.

Slamming the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s central government, the leaders said, “The federal government has been taking controversial decisions to please the western powers which have laid bare the negative ambitions of the prime minister.
“Religious parties have the right to lodge their protest against any attack on the blasphemy law as they have played their active role in taking independence from the west.”
They promised to continue protests and rallies against the Supreme Court’s decision of acquitting Aasia.
The leaders also demanded immediate arrest of the people responsible for the assassination of veteran religious leader Maulana Samiul Haq.
“Rawalpindi has remained the central crime spot for assassinating the country’s veteran politicians and leaders. Liaquat Ali Khan and Benazir Bhutto were murdered in Pindi and now Samiul Haq has been killed in the same city,” the JUI-F leaders said.
The JUI-F held protest demonstrations and rallies in Kalat, Khuzdar, Mastung, Loralai, Zhob, Qilla Abdullah, Musakhel, Naushki, Kharan, Naseerabad and other cities of the province.
