In a special congratulatory message to the people and Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday, he said the ministry had achieved the objectives of the legal package by Tuesday night. He said that the Prime Minister’s Secretariat was also briefed in this regard.
The law minister revealed that the draft of the whistleblower bill was ready and progress had been made on the women’s action plan.
He claimed that the process for inheritance had also been reformed and it would be verified from National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). He said the process which used to take seven to eight years can now be completed within two weeks.
Govt, opposition mull NAB laws tweak
Barrister Naseem revealed that progress had been made on a legal assistance bill that had been pending for the last nine years.
He said that women and children from far-flung areas would be provided with legal assistance. He claimed that a lawyer would be appointed in this regard.
He said that a law had also been drafted for the public servants and announced that a legal justice aid authority had been established.
The minister said that amendments had also been recommended to the civil procedures, which he informed were formulated by the Englishmen after 20 to 30 years of research.
He said Prime Minister Imran would soon inaugurate legal package soon.
