“Modern techniques are being used and all resources are utilised to investigate the case. The government will soon reach the culprit. We are in contact with all the departments and Prime Minister Imran Khan has issued clear instructions in this regard,” Afridi said on Monday.
The federal minister was talking to media after offering Fateha for the departed soul. “The prime minister will be briefed on the issue as soon as he arrives in the country, he added.
Meanwhile, the JUI-S acting chief and Sami’s son Maulana Hamidul Haq has announced countrywide protest against Sami’s killing on November 9.
“We will be waiting for the government to conclude its investigations into the killing. Not even a single incident of violence took place following the killing of the party chief. However, a protest demonstration will be held across the country on November 9,” Hamid said.
The interim JUI-S chief, who was addressing a news conference at Darul Uloom Haqqania, said the government was well aware of the threats to Sami’s life but nothing was done. On Monday, a large number of people arrived to Jamia Haqqania, Sami’s famous seminary, and offered prayers for his soul.
The assassination of Maulana Samiul Haq
Besides others, Abdullah Gul, son of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) former chief General Hameed Gul, the JUI-F General Secretary Maulana Ghafoor Haidri also visited the seminary, located in Nowshera.
Gul told the media that India and Afghanistan are celebrating Sami’s assassination. “In fact, they say they have avenged last month’s murder of Afghan General Raziq,” he added.
Haidri said the murder is a challenge for state institutions. He said it must be investigated as to why religious scholars are targeted in suicide attacks and why Samiul Haq was killed. “This is the question. This murder is a challenge for state institutions,” he added.
