Sindh Theatre Festival commences at Arts Council
A large number of Urdu and Sindhi writers and actors attend the red-carpet inaugural ceremony
KARACHI:
The 18-day ‘Sindh Theatre Festival’ was inaugurated at the Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi on Friday.
The red-carpet inaugural ceremony was attended by the Arts Council of Pakistan President Ahmed Shah, Sindh government culture secretary and a large number of Urdu and Sindhi writers and actors.
It is the second year of the Sindh culture festival being organised by Arts Council of Pakistan in collaboration with the Sindh culture department.
Addressing a press conference, Shah said that the Arts Council has always played an important role to promote art, culture and peace in Pakistan. “We are using all of our tools to bring peace and prosperity in Pakistan like a civilised nation,” said Shah.
Soon after the inaugural ceremony, a play ‘Ullu and Mano’ (Owl and Pussycat) was presented. It was directed by Anjum Ayaz.
