Karachi violence: 12 injured in attack on ex-PAC chief

Baloch was returning from a political rally when he was attacked.

KARACHI:

At least 12 people have been injured in an attack on the chairman of the now-defunct People’s Aman Committee, Uzair Baloch, was attacked in the Ghasmandi area near Napier Road around 1 am on Tuesday morning.

According to police, Baloch was returning from a political rally when he was attacked. Witnesses say his attackers used hand grenades but police deny this. Sources say his convoy was attacked just when the power went out in the area he was passing by.

R S JOHAR | 13 years ago | Reply @Thinking: Its a good idea to keep the people informed of the atrocities committed by these monsters. ET is doing an excellent job with their honest reporting. Most of the Indians who visit this forum get the first hand information about situation in Pakistan, feelings of its people and one to one contact with them from across the border lessens the animosity between the two neighbours. Recent events in Pakistan saddens all Indians and its the right time for the Pak people to rise against the evil forces who want to enforce their outdated and fanatic ideology by force.

Thinking | 13 years ago | Reply As cold hearted as this may sound, given how regular bombings are in Pakistan it might be advisable for ET to create a rolling ticker on the homepage (somewhat like sports scores or weather on top) which just shows "Today's Terrorist Attacks" and lists the city, number killed/wounded, and the name of the organization which has taken credit/blame. In all seriousness, my heart goes out to all the innocent people hurt by yet another senseless attack.
