Naqeebullah murder: IO presents final report on ‘absconders’ to ATC

KARACHI: The investigation officer, SSP Dr Rizwan, presented the final report regarding the fugitives, in the cases relating to the murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud and four others, to an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday.

The court remarked that it could not proceed with the case till the high court's verdict.

Former Malir SSP Rao Anwar and other accused appeared before the court. According to the SSP's report, SHO Amanullah Marwat, Shoaib Shooter and 12 others are still in hiding. Raids have been conducted for their arrest. Permission was sought to declare them absconders.

The court remarked that the plea pertaining to the transfer of case to another court is being heard by the Sindh High Court. Thus, till the high court announces its verdict, the court cannot proceed.

The hearing was adjourned till November 19.
