Minister for health says govt wants to provide quality health service

ISLAMABAD : Provincial Minister for Health Mir Naseebullah Marri has said the government is all set to introduce mobile medical service in the rural areas of the province.

Talking to APP on Wednesday, the minister said, “We have finalised a plan to launch mobile medical services in the far-flung areas of the province. The aim of this initiative is to provide quality health facilities at the people’s doorstep.”

According to the minister, the mobile medical service would be made available in areas where the hospital services are not available.

He lamented that the people of Balochistan were deprived of health facilities due lack of medical facilities in their vicinities. The government was planning to revamp the health sector on a priority basis, he said.

The minister said that the government was bringing proper management system and providing all required equipment to hospitals in the province.  He said the government was developing health sector to resolve the difficulties being faced by the people, especially the poor.

“The government was planning to recruit 700 trained doctors and paramedical staff in various hospitals to overcome dearth of medical staff,” he said.
Answering a question, he said the provincial government was on a mission to make Balochistan polio-free and would soon achieve that target.

Speaking on the issue of absenteeism of medical staff, he said, “We have formed a committee to visit the hospitals to ensure round-the-clock availability of skilled staff to the patients.”

He said the government was ensuring the availability of medicines, modern surgical equipment and planning to invest more money in the sector to tackle the shortage of drugs in government hospitals.
