Man kills sister-in-law, paramour over ‘honour’

Police say accused allegedly found them in a ‘compromising situation’ when he returned home from work

MUZAFFARGARH: A man allegedly axed his sister-in-law and her paramour to death over ‘hounour’ in Kandai area, Muzaffargarh on Tuesday.

Kandai police told Express News that Javed Lashari, a resident of Basti Waloot, suspected his 25-year-old sister-in-law Naseem Mai to have ‘illicit relations’ with another man.

On the day of the incident, the accused allegedly found them together in a ‘compromising situation’ when he returned home unexpectedly. In a fit of rage, the suspect axed them to death and fled the scene.

Police shifted the bodies to a local hospital for legal formalities. Kandai police said that they had registered a case and were conducting raids to find and arrest Javed. Further investigations are under way.

Earlier, a man stabbed a person whom he suspected of being his wife’s paramour in Khurarianwala area, Faisalabad.

Police said Athar, a resident of Chak No 113-GB, had suspected that his wife was seeing another man identified as Abbas. Police said that Abbas stayed overnight at Athar’s house when he was away.

However, Athar found them together in an objectionable position when he returned from his trip. At this, he got enraged and stabbed Abbas to death. The culprit then beat his wife with a club. The woman fainted from the blow and Athar fled the scene.
