NADRA gears up for 2nd phase of Watan Cards

National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is all set to start the second phase of Watan Cards.

In the second phase, termed the Citizen’s Damage Compensation Programme, over one million flood affected households will be provided cash transfers, Deputy Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik said in a press release issued here on Monday.


Malik said that the authority has issued over 1.6 million Watan Cards “effectively and transparently” to the flood victims, while addressing all their complaints using the efficient Complaint Redressal System. Out of the estimated 1.68 million flood affected families, the authority has distributed Watan Cards to 1,645,262 million, “so our job is 99 per cent complete”, said Malik. “We are now determined that this achievement will pave they way for the successful completion of the second phase,” he added. In the first phase, NADRA distributed cash assistance of Rs30,350,275,877 to flood affected families across the country.
