Football: Qatar to build first WC stadium

We’re looking to complete the first stadium with cooling system technology by 2015: General Hassanal Thawadi.

DOHA: Qatar plans to complete the construction of its first stadium for the 2022 World Cup by 2015. “We’re looking to complete the first stadium with cooling system technology by 2015,” said Supreme Committee Secretary General Hassanal Thawadi. The Gulf state hopes to assign programme management for the first stadium by the end of 2011 to set the ball rolling for the major project in the first quarter next year.
