20,000 jobs for the people of Balochistan: Gilani

Employment to be given with coast guard, law enforcement agencies, civil defence and also with the federal quota.

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Monday said that 20,000 jobs have been set aside for the people of Balochistan and a total of 5,000 people have already been employed in the province.

Gilani, who was speaking to the media in Quetta, said that people will be employed with the coast guard, law enforcement agencies, civil defence and also with the federal quota. He said that the government had relaxed the job criteria for the people of Balochistan.

Speaking on development, the prime minister said that he will visit the province every month and inaugurate projects with the Chief Minister of Balochistan. He also said that a minister will visit the province every week.

He also said that the army has started to leave the province and the Frontier Corps (FC) had started replacing it.


Good relations will all neighbours

Gilani said that Pakistan wanted to maintain “excellent” relations with all neighbours, including India, Afghanistan and Iran.

He said relations with the west and United States should be based on respect and mutual interest.

Speaking on the War on Terror, Gilani said that terrorism was a global phenomena and everyone was united in the fight against it. He said that it would take time, but Pakistan will be successful in the fight against terror.
