US envoy commits to regional security in K-P

US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires calls Governor and CM during Peshawar visit

PESHAWAR: The United States on Wednesday discussed the emerging political, economic and security issues in the province, especially in the former tribal agencies with the chief executive of the province.

US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Paul Jones called on Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Shah Farman and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday while visiting Peshawar, read a statement issued here on Wednesday.

Ambassador Jones discussed a host of issues in K-P and talked about the US government-supported programmes in the province. He underscored US’ continued commitment towards regional prosperity and security.

Ambassador Jones expressed the US government’s desire to work with the Pakistan government towards the fulfilment of common goals. He also appreciated the hospitality he received and expressed his desire to try some of the local cuisines and visit the historic landmarks of Peshawar.
