Justice Anwarul Haq sworn in as Lahore High Court chief justice
Appointment was confirmed at October 2 Judicial Commission of Pakistan meeting
Justice Muhammad Anwarul Haq was sworn in as the 47th chief justice of the Lahore High Court on Tuesday, Radio Pakistan reported.

The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Governor House. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar administered oath to Haq. Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, provincial ministers, high court judges and bar association officials.
LHC judge recuses himself from case against SECP chief
Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar had nominated Haq as Lahore High Court chief justice earlier in September. The appointment was later confirmed at an October 2 meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan. Haq will retire in December this year.
