A 42-year-old Pakistani driver is being tried for setting 13 vehicles parked at a Dubai mall on fire, Khaleed Times reported.

The man, who has confessed, poured petrol on the minivan of a new driver employed by his company in spite.  He then started a fire using a lit cigarette.

The fire gutted 13 vehicles at the mall's parking area. The flames also caught the man's clothes, who CCTV footage showed attempting an escape while getting rid of them.  Police arrested the man from an airport where he was trying to flee the United Arab Emirates.

The court will deliver a verdict on October 29.
