Flood Relief: Farm equipment distributed

More than 600 flood affected farmers in Agra, Mirza Dher and Tarnab benefitted from the agriculture input assistance.

PESHAWAR: The Society for Human and Institutional Development (SHID) has provided agriculture inputs and fertilizers to floods affected farmers in Charssada District. More than 600 flood affected farmers in Agra, Mirza Dher and Tarnab benefitted from the agriculture input assistance. SHID Executive Director Anwar Shah distributed agricultural tools including hoes, sickles, spades, shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes, axes, saws, gloves and vegetable fertilizers along with other essential commodities during a ceremony held here on Saturday. A large number of flood-hit small growers were present on the occasion.Anwar Shah said that SHID had allocated Rs21 million for the assistance of flood-affected people, saying the agricultural assistance to 600 farmers was part of the relief package. Primarily, he said the agricultural package would be distributed among 1,000 families in the first phase, including construction of 60 irrigation watercourses in the said union councils.
