Football: Liverpool edge closer to £15m deal

Liverpool will make a £15m bid for Blackburn Rovers defender Phil Jones, according to reports. Jones has been one of the leading performers for the Rovers first team in the 2009 and 2010 season and has been more noticeable after his quick recovery from a knee injury in December. The England under-21 international missed out on three months of the remaining season after experts felt that he would not play again. However, he has made a significant impression and has been taken up for bids by other clubs such as Chelsea and Arsenal.
