Eight witnesses had appeared before the tribunal, but statements of only seven were recorded.
The driver of the taxi the Chechens were travelling and an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) who had intercepted the vehicle at the first check post were also among the witnesses.
The driver said that ASI Raza Khan had stopped the taxi at the first check post and four men had stepped out of the vehicle to talk to the policeman. Police had found two shampoo bottles from the foreigners.
The ASI gave a contradictory statement, saying the foreigners were carrying explosives including hand grenades.
The tribunal did not record the statement of Area Magistrate, Sardar Rafique Tareen.
The proceedings have been adjourned till Monday.
