'Avengers 4' set five years after 'Infinity War'

Fans might just have to wait a little longer to find out what happened when half of humanity was wiped off

Fans of the Avengers franchise, most of whom were left heartbroken at the end of Avengers: Infinity War might just have to wait a little longer to find out what happened when half of humanity was wiped off. According to Metro UK, the upcoming installment will not show the immediate aftermath of Thanos' destructive finger snap.

The much-anticipated Avengers 4 might just pick up five years into the future. Writer Daniel R shared his thoughts on the same and later confirmed that the franchise would jump five years. He tweeted, "Avengers 4 starts YEARS after Infinity War. Not just a few months later as some people were hoping for. Sorry guys."

Some people believe that the jump might just be a rumour because it will then mean that Marvel's other film, Spiderman: Far From Home will be taking place only a few minutes after Avengers 4. But then again, time travel that is hoped to be the binding force of the upcoming film, makes everything possible.

It's also a popular theory that will explain how the living Avengers will be able to undo Thanos' annihilation and bring the fallen heroes back to life. In leaked photos, Robert Downey Jr who essays Iron Man was spotted looking older than usual. He also supported a S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform which could mean that the remaining superheroes have joined forces yet again to fight against Thanos.

Another report suggested that Avengers 4 will feature an older version of Cassie Lang - Scott's (Paul Rudd) daughter from Antman. And of course, for Tom Holland - whose disappearance was probably the most agonising - will have 'come back to life' in Avengers 4 to reprise his role in Far From Home.
