Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are one of Bollywood's most-celebrated couples. The two tied the knot back in 2007 and also have a six-year-old daughter named Aaradhya. Speaking at the India Today Conclave East 2018, Abhishek revealed when the two went from being friends to being in love.

Abhishek Bachchan lashes out at photographer for clicking Aishwarya Rai inappropriately

He said, "I was working with Aishwarya during the start of my career. Our first film together was Dhai Akshar Prem Ke in 2000 and we were friends since then. Simultaneously, we signed another film together called Kuch Na Kaho. We always had a close friendship and in time, it evolved into something more than that."

Abhishek added that things took a serious turn after their 2006 film Umrao Jaan. The 42-year-old continued, "I proposed to Aishwarya after Umrao Jaan and then we got married. Now we are parents to a beautiful daughter, Aaradhya."

The Manmarziyaan star was all praises for his wife at the event. He shared that the former Miss World is always dedicated to whatever she does, be it films or being a mother.

At an earlier interview with Hindustan Times, Abhishek stated, "I’ve never asked who fell in love first, actually. I’ll have to ask her that. But the moment we got together we knew this was it.”

Aishwarya, who was also present with her husband at the interview, quickly added, "It’s not like we said ‘One minute, let the relationship marinate, we want time to get to know each other’.”
