PESHAWAR:

The government has initiated several projects for purification and provision of clean water in FR Tank, while a number of schemes have already been completed.

The drinking water supply scheme for the people of Zahoor Kili in FR Tank has been completed for access to potable drinking water in the area. FATA Directorate of Information on Friday stated that approximately 2,100 individuals are benefiting from the project. The local population approached the political administration of FR Tank and demanded supply of clean water, stating that they faced an acute shortage of safe drinking water and had to rely on unsafe water. The administration completed a project which required the construction of a pump house, a 137 metre deep tube well, a 10,000 gallon water surface tank and three 2,000 gallon water tanks. It also required installation of a 650 metre pipeline network and a 25 KV transformer to power the system. The administration also completed the construction of a flood protection wall in Soza area of FR Tank, which is benefitting approximately 2,500 individuals. The wall protects 55 acres of agricultural land and hundreds of houses from seasonal flooding.
