The now 21-year-old activist seems to be excelling at the prestigious Oxford University as she continues her activism for girls' education. While Malala has always been in news for one reason or another, here is a list of six times she made headlines.
1. Penning her life at Oxford University for 'British Vogue'
PHOTO: BRITISH VOGUEBritish Vogue's editor, Edward Enninful, recently revealed that Malala will be reflecting on her journey from Swat to Oxford in a letter, written exclusively for the publication.
“As Malala Yousafzai begins her second year at university, in the November issue of British Vogue on newsstands this Friday, she reflects on her life at Oxford University and why every girl deserves the same chance," Enninful wrote on Twitter.
2. The portrait

Created by artist Shirin Nishat, the piece has a poem inscribed on it which is written by Pakhtun poet Rahmat Shah Sayel. Previously, her numerous murals have been displayed globally. The latest one is dedicated to her contributions towards girls’ education.
3. When she was featured in World's Most Inspired People 2018
Malala delighted at girls' education pledge. PHOTO: AFPMalala alongside Prime Minister Imran Khan made it to a list of the World’s Most Admired People of 2018. The Nobel Prize laureate and PTI chairman made it to top 20 of the men and women lists, according to an annual study compiled by YouGov.
The list included 20 men and 20 women, chosen as a result of online interviews in which more than 37,000 people from 35 countries participated. Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Hollywood A-lister Angelina Jolie landed on top of the coveted list.
4. Pop culture

Director Amjad Khan revealed that Gul Makai is his tribute to Malala for everything she has achieved and represents as a young and inspiring icon. The film’s name has been obtained from the pseudonym that Malala herself used while writing blogs about her life in the Swat valley for BBC Urdu, reported The Indian Express.
In March this year, popular talk show host David Letterman welcomed Malala on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction as well.
5. Celeb galore
PHOTO: MALALA/TWITTERFootball legend David Beckham shared a picture with Malala on his Instagram account back in 2015. “I was fortunate again to meet the incredible and inspirational Malala. A true role model to so many people,” he wrote.
After that, billionaire philanthropist and co-founder Microsoft Bill Gates shared a photo with Malala, praising her work for females. "We’re lucky to have such a passionate advocate for women & girls,” said Gates, adding that his daughters would be jealous of his photo with Malala.
She also met Bollywood bigwigs Priyanka Chopra, Twinkle Khanna and others.
6. The youngest Nobel Prize Laureate
PHOTO: REUTERSBack in 2o14, the Nobel Peace Prize went to 17-year-old Malala for her services towards promoting children’s rights. The Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the prize saying that peaceful global development can only come about if the youth is respected.
Malala is the youngest person to be awarded the globally prestigious annual prize.
