Rapper Nicki Minaj is letting fans know a little more about her life in her upcoming documentary, reported E! News.

Eminem and Nicki Minaj are apparently dating and we're freaking out!

On October 2, Minaj shared two clips of her upcoming project titled Queen. The footage shed light on the Bang Bang singer's turbulent childhood and the impact it left on her last relationship. She claimed that the romance had gotten violent and was starting to threaten her identity.

Minaj recalled her father's behaviour towards her mother. She stated that as a little girl, whenever her father got abusive with her mother, she would often throw her arms in front of her mother and protect her.

With tears falling down her cheeks, the 35-year-old rapper added, "Maybe some people would describe me as abrasive because I vowed from that age that no man would ever abuse me, call out my name or treat me like that. And then all of a sudden, that was my life."

While Minaj did not reveal the name of the man, she confessed that the abuse stole any notification that she had to make music. She explained, "Who was I going to inspire when I had nothing in me to give? I let one human being make me so low that I didn't even remember who I was. I was scared to get in the studio. I didn't believe in myself."

It wasn't until she relocated to Miami and then back to New York City that she rediscovered her passion for singing. Minaj then recorded Coco Chanel and Good Form, both of which are featured in Queen.

The singer has not announced a release of her documentary yet.
