Chairing a meeting of the members of the Punjab Assembly from Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions on Sunday, the chief minister said ‘the new Pakistan has introduced a culture of fewer claims and more work’. “The people of Punjab will soon witness a positive change as the PTI government believes in action,” the CM said.
Buzdar highlighted that his entire team was working day and night to implement the 100-day reform agenda of Prime Minister Imran Khan. “Punjab will surely play its role in the implementation of the reforms agenda and people will witness a great change in the first 100 days of the PTI government as promised,” he said. “We have already started introducing reforms in various sectors. In the past, the people witnessed that the previous government had made many hollow promises but now it is the time to deliver as actions speak louder than words.”
Meetings reviewed various development proposals to uplift the underdeveloped region of South Punjab.
Instead of sticking to the traditional system, Buzdar underlined that the government officials would have to work in a creative way to solve public issues in an efficient and effective manner. He said the government would enhance the capacity of the public departments and provide facilities to the government officials in order to encourage them to play their role more efficiently in serving the masses.
“We will support people who are serving public while strict action will be taken against those who lag behind in implementing the government’s policy,” he warned and added that he would spend a day in all divisional headquarters to listen to the complaints himself.
“The PTI government has introduced an open-door policy in government offices so that the people could reach the officers concerned directly,” the CM asserted. Buzdar also warned that action would be taken against officers who keep people waiting for more than two hours.
He said the consultation process with members of parliament would be continued and that his doors were open for all the members of the Punjab Assembly. He was of the view that public issues were completely neglected in the past nevertheless ‘new Pakistan’ would give the basic rights to all.
“Owing to the wrong policies of the previous governments,” he said, “the country has deviated from its original direction so they were guilty before the nation.”
“We have made Pakistan move towards this real destination in one month,” he said. Buzdar remarked that politicians and officers would serve the public and uphold the policy of merit. The policy of transparency has been adopted in ‘new Pakistan’ with a zero-tolerance towards corruption.
The chief minister said police reforms were in the final stage and would be completed soon. He said prosperity would soon be the destination of the masses because we could not deny our party name.
Buzdar listened to the recommendations and issues of the members and issued orders on the spot. Provincial ministers, members of the Punjab Assembly, administrative and police officials and officers concerned were also present on the occasion.
