Custom officials nab two smugglers and recover foreign currency amounting to Rs38 million

ISLAMABAD: After the smuggling case involving actress and model Ayyan Ali, custom officials at Islamabad Airport have foiled another major attempt of smuggling of foreign currency worth millions of rupees to Dubai. The custom officials took the two smugglers into custody and recovered foreign currency amounting to Rs38 million. Commenting on the incident, custom officials said that a high level team led by Additional Customs Collector Ayesha Bashir Wani gave the department information of the smuggling after which chief collector for north Agha Jawad arrested the culprits. According to the officials, suspects Inayat Khan and Ghulam Dastagir were about to board a Dubai-bound flight from Islamabad. Upon receiving the information, the additional customs collectors Ayesha Bashir and Farheen Zara and Additional Collector Nisar Ahmed stopped the take-off of flight PK 233 and arrested the suspects. Before their arrest, the culprits had cleared all searching points at the airport and were seated in the plane.
