Director General, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar also accompanied the army chief.
According to the PM Office “security and regional stability situation” came under discussion during the meeting.
It was the third meeting between the prime minister and the army chief since August 18 when the former assumed office of the prime minister.

The prime minister also met the COAS during his recent visits to the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and ISI headquarters this month.
The prime minister also attended the Defense Day ceremony at GHQ on September 6.
On September 3, ahead of a crucial visit by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Pakistan, the prime minister and the army chief held a meeting to discuss Pakistan-US relations against the backdrop of a spat between Islamabad and Washington.
Gen Bajwa had also called on the prime minister on August 27 to congratulate him on assuming office, which was their first meeting after the formation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led (PTI) government.
The top military commander also attended Imran’s swearing in ceremony on August 18 while their first formal meeting was held in 2017 when the PTI chairman had visited Bajwa to congratulate him on his appointment as COAS.
Meanwhile, Khaled Nasser Abdullah Al Roudhan, Minister of Commerce & Industry of Kuwait paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday. He congratulated the prime minister on assuming the office and conveyed best wishes of the Emir of Kuwait.
According to a statement issued by the PM Office, the prime minister expressed the desire to work closely with Kuwait to enhance cooperation in the areas of trade, investment and economic development.
Imran, army chief meet ahead of Pompeo’s visit
The prime minister invited Kuwaiti investment in various sectors including agriculture, energy, livestock and oil exploration. He also hoped that the visa hurdles faced by Pakistanis visiting Kuwait would be resolved on priority.
Regional issues of mutual importance were also discussed. The prime minister said that the government and people of Pakistan wish to see early and amicable resolution of the Gulf crisis.
Minister Al Roudhan is visiting Pakistan from 26-28 September 2018 to co-chair 4th round of Pakistan-Kuwait Joint Ministerial Commission.
