“He was banging on the window to try to get the aircraft to wait and he then broke through a door and made his way on to the apron, trying to flag the aircraft down,” an airport spokesperson said.

“He was initially restrained by Ryanair staff on the apron and airport police, who had already been contacted, arrived on the scene almost immediately and arrested him.”

The airport official said the man, in his 20s, arrived late with a female passenger at around 7am local time. The two then began arguing with  Ryanair staff with the man growing "agitated".

The man, nabbed by airport police, was produced before a court later the same day.
