This was announced by Livelihood and Production Department Secretary Abdul Latif and Japanese Ambassador Takashi Kurai during an evenT in Islamabad. They said that geographically, the districts which were formerly known as the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), are vulnerable to disasters where poorly-constructed mud and stone houses and other weak infrastructure are often washed away by rains and flash flooding.
The frequency of climatic shocks – as well as conflict calls for the strengthening of disaster risk management systems to mitigate risk.
