The film marks Bachchan and Khan's first collaboration. And while fans were excited to watch the superstars share screen space, it seems like Thugs of Hindostan might prove to be a disappointment.
The Cheeni Kum star is a part of more action sequences compared to his younger co-star, Khan, who essays the role of Firangi. Bachchan also fits well into his character, donning a white beard with blue eyes and a turban. While many would argue that only an actor like Ranveer Singh can play such a role, we shouldn't underestimate what the veteran star can bring to the silver screen. After all, his acting career spans over four decades.
The film's music, action, visual effects, looks of the characters and even some bits of the storyline seem to take cue from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. But of course, the VFX used in Thugs of Hindostan are nothing compared to that of Pirates of the Caribbean.
At one point in the trailer, Fatima Sana Shaikh who essays Zafira, can be seen jumping off a cliff. Usually, such jumps require the actors to be suspended and supported by heavy-duty ropes which are later edited out through VFX. But, oops! It seems like the ropes were not edited in the released version as they were clearly visible when the actors took the leap.
Overall, it was not the trailer that left us floored but instead Bachchan's performance reminds fans of his old stints such as his role in Shahenshah and his character of Auro in 2009's Paa.
