Provincial government was offering 60% subsidy on installation of drip irrigation systems

DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Punjab government has invited applications from farmers to enable them to avail modern technology at a highly subsidised cost to modernise agriculture and enhance production. While presiding over a meeting of agriculture advisory committee, on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar Bhatti said that the provincial government was offering 60% subsidy on installation of drip irrigation systems, 80% subsidy on solar panels and 50% subsidy on tunnel farming. The Punjab government was committed to facilitating farmers to the extent of sharing sizable cost of installation of modern agriculture systems, Bhatti added. He said that the government was inviting applications from farmers to benefit from these schemes.
