Currently, no details of the plot have been revealed but the storyline will revolve around Quinn assembling a team of superheroes such as Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to fight the protagonist that is yet to be named. In Suicide Squad, the film showed the main villains of the DC world uniting against a cause.

It's reported that Birds of Prey will go on floors in early 2019 which is why the release date of the film has been announced for February 2020. It will follow in the footsteps of Wonder Woman which was released in 2017 and the much-anticipated Wonder Woman 1984 that hits screens on November 2019.

In the upcoming months, DC Entertainment will be rolling out a massive wave of women-centric films based on comics that feature girl power. But fans will not have to wait for February 2020 to see Robbie play Quinn again. The character will be returning in Suicide Squad 2 which is scheduled to release in late 2019.

'Harley Quinn vs The Joker' spin-off in the works

Ben Affleck who played Batman in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017's Justice League, will reportedly be making an appearance in the Suicide Squad sequel as well.
